Bobby Ray Teal

Bobby Ray Teal, 87, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness on Thursday August 22, 2024.

Born January 17, 1937 to the late Jadie F and Sudie Gainey Teal. He was preceded in death by his siblings, J.Frank, Dorothy, Mary, Carolyn and Pearl.  Educated in Cabarrus County Schools, he became an electrician by trade and retired from Cannon Mills.   He proudly served in the United States Navy.  Most recently, he was the welcoming smile when you visited Wayne’s Tire.  He was an active member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.  He enjoyed spending time at the beach, Christian Tours adventures and trips with his Senior Saints group.  He loved his family, friends and always made sure you knew how special you were to him through his “wise words” and “special names”.  He loved life and lived as an example for all who knew him.

Those left to cherish those precious memories are his wife of nearly 60 years, Betty B. Teal. Children-Margaret Navarro (Felipe), Bobby Teal, Jr (Rita), Jennifer Teal. Grandchildren-Justin Propst (Sarah), Zachary Meyer, Chase Bongard, Christian Bongard, Austin Teal (Miranda) and Colby Teal (fiance’ Abby Leopard). Great-granddaughter’s-Lynlee, Braleigh and Brynleigh. Brother in laws, James Burr and wife Dianne, Michael Burr and Eddie Burr as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday August 25, 2024 from 1:00 pm-2:45 pm with the service to follow at 3:00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home and Chapel, to be officiated by Pastor Ricky Brown.  Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with Military Honors.
