Obituary: Bonnie Kay Drye Greene, 60 of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 16, 2012 following a period of declining health. Bonnie was born on April 1st, 1952 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of James Clifford Drye of Charlotte, and Blanche Caroll Drye Hartsell of Concord. Bonnie was formerly employed by the Waffle House as a waitress and had worked in many of the local Waffle Houses. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing as hobbies. Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence. In addition to her parents Bonnie is survived by a daughter; Tina Johnson of the home, two sons; Tim Clay and wife Bonnie and Ronnie Clay all of Concord, five grandchildren; Ashley Cardin of Tallahassee, FL., Britney Campbell of Kannapolis, and Christian, Rebecca, and Malcom Clay, all of Concord, two great grandchildren; Thomas Jase Reser and Miley Reser and a future great grandchild, Isaiah Bodiford, a brother; Arnold Drye and wife Sara of Concord, two sisters; Rhonda Pigg and husband Darrell of Kannapolis, and Jamie Caudill of China Grove, and several nieces and nephews.
