Bonnie LeQuire, 103, of Kannapolis, NC peacefully passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home, with her son by her side.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm, Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Midway United Methodist Church with Pastor Craig Allen officiating the service. Burial will follow service at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm, before the service.
Bonnie was born November 12, 1919, in Rockwood, TN to the late Jim West, and Prudie West. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie LeQuire and 5 brothers.
Bonnie was a longtime, faithful member of Midway United Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir for many years, and was a member of her Sunday school class, women’s circle group and helped in many church capacities throughout the years. Bonnie was member of the order of the Eastern star, chapter 349 for 40 years. During this time, she served as Worthy Matron of Chapter 349 for two separate terms.
Bonnie lived a full life of giving, sharing, caring, and loving all around her. She never met a stranger and would open her door to anyone. Bonnie had a beautiful heart and soul and loved to help others and bring smile and joy to all around her. She lived by her faith and loved to spend time reading her Bible and singing hymns around the home. Bonnie loved her church and her church family and loved to spread joy by singing in her church any chance she was given. She loved to bake and decorate cakes and sharing these cakes with so many friends and family on their birthdays. Bonnie also loved to sew, and had a passion with art. Bonnie would sketch beautiful pictures and loved to paint. However, the thing that brought the most joy in her life was her family. She loved spending time with her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Johnny LeQuire Sr; grandchildren Johnny LeQuire Jr. and wife Courtney LeQuire, Jessica Darnell and husband Rob Darnell; great-grandchildren Cooper LeQuire, Catie LeQuire, Skye Weatheread, Otto Darnell, and Zadie Darnell; great great-children Harrison and Miles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 708 S Main St, Kannapolis, NC 28081
