Obituary: Bradley James Essick, 21, of Concord passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. He was born June 2, 1992 in Coweta County, Georgia, the son of Joe Nelson Essick Jr. and Linda Dianne Tumlin Essick. Bradley was a 2010 graduate of J.M. Robinson High School where he played trumpet and Euphonium in the marching band. Bradley was a very talented musician playing various instruments, including bass, guitar, mandolin and the bagpipes. He loved the outdoors and animals. He volunteered his time at Kitty City, a cat adoption facility in Concord. Bradley loved the Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout rank from Boy Scout Troop 38 in Concord. A service to celebrate Bradley's life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Mitch White. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Whitley's. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Laura Jordan Essick, and grandparents, LaVerne Loggins Tumlin and Joe and Theola Essick.
