Obituary: Brenda Kay "BC" Carlton, 59 of Granite Quarry, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 2 at Stonegate Farms, 1310 Cannon Farms Rd in China Grove. Brenda was born July 2, 1959 in Goldsboro, a daughter of the late Norman and Vera Mae Carlton. Brenda held various positions throughout her years, mostly in management. She attended and graduated from NorthWest Cabarrus High School. Following high school she worked with special needs children at Longs School for Exceptional Children. Momma enjoyed fishing, camping and all things outdoors. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, Grammy and friend. Her smile and laughter could light up a room. Brenda had a witty sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to laugh. The world is a darker place without her. She will be forever loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her sisters; Rhonda Gail Anderson and Bobbie Sue Gautney, her brothers; David Clarence Carlton, Marvin James Carlton, Steven Frederick Carlton, Thomas Wayne Anderson and Earl Floyd Anderson, her daughter, Laurie Collins McLemore and her son, Brandon Allan Collins and her granddaughters, Chloe and Sophia Collins.
