Brenda Helms Lyles

Obituary: Rockwell- Brenda Helms Lyles, 75, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, March 31, 2019, from CHS-NorthEast Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born July 19, 1943 in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Mary Fesperman Helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Reece. Brenda's family and church were her life. She loved all of her family, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family and friends are blessed with the depth of her love and loyalty for the rest of their lives. An active member of Landis Baptist Church, she sang in the Trinity Trio, was a member of the Jesse Stirewalt Circle, and was devoted to the church's mission house. Left to cherish Brenda's memory are her husband, Clyde Lee Lyles; her children, Cathy Hager (Ralph), John Mark Lyles (Bonnie) and Leann McGrath (Shaun); her grandchildren, Toni Benton (Jerry), Matthew Hager, Wayne Lyman (Heather), Devin Lyman, Darrell Lyles, Jennifer Keever (Zach), and Briana Lyles; her great-grandchildren, Kylie and Braxton Keever, Alexander and Harper Lyman, and Wyatt and Trace Benton. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 4th from 12:00-2:00 PM at Landis Baptist Church. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Brenda's life will begin at 2:00 PM in the church, conducted by Pastor Ralph Hager and Rev. Bruce Graham. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Landis Baptist Church or to the Lymphedema Association, 1807 North Fordham Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
