Brenda (Jones) Markham

Brenda Jones Markham, 69, of Landis passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Tucker Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer for the last five years. She was born December 29, 1951 in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of the late James D. Jones and Dulcie Shinn Jones.

Brenda worked many years as a CPA, Office Manager and a Real Estate Broker. Brenda obtained her B.S. in Accounting from UNC-Charlotte. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. Brenda was always family oriented. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Brenda was also an avid reader.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 22, 2021 at Kannapolis Church of God officiated by Dr. Greg Sloop,  assisted by Pastor Sam Crisp (Ret.).  Her family will receive friends prior from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 49 years, William J Markham, Jr., two sons, Major William J Markham, III, USMC, (Ret.), Michael Christopher Markham (Candice), three grandchildren, Michael Jr., Vivian and Abigail, brother, Bruce Douglas Jones (Rebecca) and three nieces.
