Brenda Meeks-Murdock

Obituary: Brenda Kay Meeks-Murdock, 66, of China Grove, NC went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2016 at CHS-NorthEast Medical Center following a period of declining health. Brenda was born August 20, 1949 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late Charlie Bennie Ransom Meeks and Edith Virginia Grindstaff Morris. Brenda was of the Baptist Faith. She was a registered CNA and was a private patient caregiver. She had also been employed as a waitress for Waffle House. She is survived by a brother, Tonnie Meeks of Salisbury, two sisters, Susan Meeks Wood of Monroe and Sylvia Ann Meeks of Davidson. Survivors also include a niece, Shannon Marie Stanley and her husband Billy and their son Adain Meeks of China Grove. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Bill Hallman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Association, South Atlantic Division, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210 or to the American Lung Association in North Carolina: 514 Daniels Street, Suite 109, Raleigh, NC 27605.
