Brenda Biggerstaff Stirewalt

Obituary: Brenda Biggerstaff Stirewalt, 75, of Kannapolis went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2018 after several years declining health. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 22nd at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday prior to the funeral. Brenda was born October 29, 1942 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Guy Biggerstaff and Nancy Ruth Hooper Keller. She was a life-long area resident and graduate of East Rowan H.S. Class of 1961. Brenda was of the Baptist faith. She worked for Cannon Mills Co. for about 20 years and then for 20 years for Labor and Delivery at NorthEast Medical Center. Brenda loved to go to the beach and to yard sales. She enjoyed watching TV, sewing and embroidery and spending time with her family. Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her step-father Junior Keller, her grandson, Andrew King and her son-in-law, Daryl King. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Vic Stirewalt of Kannapolis, her daughter, Donna Kimball (Karl) of China Grove, her sons; Mark Stirewalt of Kannapolis and Steve Stirewalt (Leslie) of Rockwell, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, her brother, Guy Biggerstaff of Kannapolis and her sister, Nancy Biggerstaff of Rockwell as well as several nieces and nephews. Brenda's family wishes to thank the staff of Cannon Pharmacy, Dr. Mark Aldous, and the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor at CHS-NE and the nurses and staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus Co. for all their loving care shown to Brenda and her family.
