Brenda Kay Thomas

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Brenda Kay Stirewalt Thomas, 73, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. She was born November 26, 1944 in Cabarrus County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Mary Ellen Stirewalt Rhodes. Her husband, George Edward Thomas also preceded her in death. Brenda was retired from Cannon Mills Plant #1, weave room, with 37 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed going to and having yard sales. She loved spending time with her family. Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Charles Wayne Rhodes , and Thomas Ray Rhodes (Helen) both of Kannapolis, a daughter, Pamela Jackson of Huntersville, five grandchildren; Shannon Rhodes of Huntersville, Jessie Rhodes of Salisbury, Linda Rhodes of China Grove, Jason Rhodes of Granite Quarry and Keith Doolittle of Kannapolis. She is also survived by sixteen plus great-grandchildren. The family will have a visitation from 2:00-P.M.-5:00 P.M. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home.
