Brooke Alane Carroll Burris

Obituary: Brooke Alane Carroll Burris, age 40 passed away peacefully on June 9, 2015 at Carolinas Healthcare System-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 2, 1974 in Hamilton County, TN, the daughter of Mary Catherine Cameron Carroll of Knoxville, TN and the late Alan Herbert Carroll, Jr. Brooke was a talented seamstress and a loving mother. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Dale Cline and her nephew, Rev. Duane Herman. Burial will be at a later date. The family will also receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jamie Vandergriff. Survivors in addition to her mother include her three sons, Andrew (Cassie) Burris, Ryan (Alex) Burris, and Cyle Burris; one grandson, Tannon Burris; three sisters, Mary Jean Vandergriff, Melinda (Charles) Herman; Cathy (Don) Hasson; and one brother, Alan Carroll III.
