Brownie Allman Brown

Obituary: Brownie Allman Brown, 84, of 408 Ross Street, China Grove went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Brown was born on February 9, 1928 in Rowan Co., NC, the daughter of the late Samuel B. Allman and the late Alice Moore Allman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five siblings; James Allman, Bernice Benfield, Pauline Fisher, Jeanette Lee and Tommy Allman. Mrs. Brown was a member of Landis Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and a member of the Lois Rutledge Circle. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by those she loved. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sep. 5th, graveside services at National Cemetery in Salisbury conducted by Rev. Tom Blackburn and Rev. Billy Honeycutt, Jr. At other times the family will be at the home of a daughter, Tana B. Pethel at 1245 Pine Ridge Road, China Grove. Survivors include her husband, O.R. "Bub" Brown of the home; 2 daughters, Tana B. Pethel (Darvin) and Tommi B. Burgess (Brady) both of China Grove; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sam Allman (Brenda) of Rockwell, NC and 4 sisters, Nell Robinson (Curtis) and Darleen Cosner (Fred) both of Virginia, Naomi Freeze of Mebane, NC and Jerri Sides of Roxboro, NC.
