Bryte Brooks Faggart

Obituary: Bryte Brooks Faggart, 85, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at Universal Health Care in Concord. Mrs. Faggart was born December 6, 1928 in Stanly County to the late Calvin Teal Brooks and Carrie H. Brooks. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis and worked many years at Cannon Mills. She was married to the late Melvin Faggart who preceded her in March of 2014. Bryte loved shopping and word puzzles. She received immense pleasure in spoiling those around her, especially her two grandsons. Survivors include her son, Phil Faggart (Tammy) of Concord; grandsons, Phillip Faggart and Devin Faggart both of Concord; brothers, CT Brooks (Jenkie) of Matthews, Bob Brooks (Gail) of Concord, and Jim Brooks (Jan) of Chicago, Ill; a sister, Frances Summerell of Kannapolis; brother-in-law, William H. Faggart (Dot) of New London; and sister-in-law, Doris Gillion of Pfafftown; 27 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Reynolds, Faye Purl, Louise McDaniel, and Elaine Mills; and two brothers, Bill Brooks and Flave (Buck) Brooks. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Faggart officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
