Burlia Benfield

Obituary: Burlia Earwood Benfield, 87, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2012 following a period of declining health. Mrs. Benfield was born in Cherokee County, NC on June 1, 1925, a daughter of the late John Patrick and Lambers Green Earwood. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Gaither Benfield who died in 1977, a daughter, 3 brothers, and a sister. Funeral services for Mrs. Benfield will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.E. (Frank) Earwood officiating. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Whitley's. Mrs. Benfield was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother who enjoyed quilting, embroidering, sewing, gardening, cooking, and traveling to the mountains. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mrs Benfield is survived by 2 sons; Eric Delane Benfield and Gary Wayne Benfield, both of Kannapolis, 3 daughters; Patsy Delores Agner and husband Robin, of China Grove, Sharon Nowell and husband Johnny, of China Grove, and Glenda Hunning and husband Richard of Salisbury, 1 brother; Rev.
