Buster Eldreth

Obituary: Buster "Buck" Eldreth, 73, of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center, Concord following a short illness. Funeral services will be 12:30 P.M. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Charity Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Marty Payton, R. J. Hammonds, and Ron Bushey. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00-12:30 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence. Mr. Eldreth was born May 2, 1937 in Nash County, NC son of the late James Earl Eldreth and Ruby Rethy Testerman Eldreth. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #1 for 15 years and later at Cone Mills and Fiber Industries. He attended Charity Baptist Church. He served in the US Army from 1955-1957. He loved to fish locally and also at the coast. He also loved horses. He is survived by his wife: Cora Mae Moore Eldreth of the home, a Son: Thomas "Buster" (Terry) Eldreth of Salisbury, a Daughter: Sandra E. (Billy) Morgan of Concord, two brothers: David Elmer Eldreth of Warrensville, NC and Ray Allan (Dare) Eldreth of Lansing, NC Sister: Helen Marie (Darwin) Hudler of Winston-Salem, two grandsons, and two granddaughters. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 2420 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083
