Callie Mullis Reames

Obituary: Callie Camilla Mullis Reames, 79, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. Callie was born July 26, 1938 in Cabarrus County, NC a daughter of the late Sam Howard Mullis and Effie Goode Mullis. She was also preceded in death by her husband Murray Reames, Jr. in 1989. She was of the Baptist Faith, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and best friend. She enjoyed fishing, making crafts and was a great cook. She is survived by four daughters; Callie R. Norris of Kannapolis, Carolyn R. Childress of Dalton, Ga., Kathy R. Sanchez (Jose) of Kannapolis and Virginia R.. Vazquez (Martin) of Dalton, Ga., brothers, Harold Mullis (Carol Alman) of Salisbury, and Ray Mullis (Debbie) of Kannapolis. and one sister, Lois Clous of China Grove. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Chaplain Sonya Campbell. Interment will follow at Rocky River Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8517.
