Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Carl "Harold" Brown, age 82, of 2881 N. Cannon Blvd. died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at CMC-NE after a period of declining health. His funeral will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Concord with Rev. Bob Clanton and Rev. Gil Gilbert officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2:00 in the sanctuary prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 16, at other times they will be at the family home. Harold was born January 24, 1927 in Rowan Co. NC the son of the late Jim and Viola Anderson Brown. He was a life long area resident, educated in the Rowan Co. school system. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He belonged to the Cabarrus Co. Shrine Club and the American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church, where he had served on the Board of Council and personally remodeled the Church auditorium. Harold was President of Brown Brothers Construction Inc. on N. Cannon Blvd. until he retired in 1994. He loved to Garden and work in his wood shop. In addition to his parents He was preceded in death by his brothers; Bob and James Brown. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanette Caldwell Brown of the family home; his brothers, Linn Brown of Concord and Gene Brown of Kannapolis; his sisters, Lib Johnston of Mooresville, Nell Seaford, Mabel Morgan and husband Wesley, Rachel Ritchie, Peggy Smith and husband, Bill all of Kannapolis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his special Doberman "Angel". The Brown family wishes to specially thank Dr. Peter Chickes, Dr. Garry Schwartz, Dr. Harold Thomas and all his Angels on 3-J Oncology and in the offices.
