Obituary: Carl Goodman Brumley, 88, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence. Death was unexpected. Carl was born October 20, 1929 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Charlie Fleming Brumley and Emma Elizabeth Goodman Brumley. Carl was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen H. Brumley on September 1, 2005 a grandson, Donald Wayne Jackson and two Brothers Jay and Ray Brumley. Carl was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church. He was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #1, fabric printing, retiring in 1993 with 46 years of service. He also was a lifelong farmer. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family members left to cherish his memories are one son, Jeffery Carl (Elaine) Brumley of Kannapolis, two daughters, Patricia Ann (Larry) Carey and Rita Kay (Harry D.) Jackson both of Kannapolis and one sister, Annie Wilkinson of Kannapolis. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dale Cline. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence of a daughter, Rita Jackson of Kannapolis. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Enoch Lutheran Church, 701 Campbell Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28081, ATT: Community Meals, or to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28081, ATT: AWANA Program.
