Carl R. Evans

Obituary: Carl R. Evans, 81, of Enochville, passed away, Monday, September 12, 2016 at his home. He was born May 14, 1935 in Cabarrus Co. to the late William Edwin Evans and Armer Obera Collins Evans. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday (Sept. 15) at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lewis Whittington, and Rev. Stephen Burrows officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with Military Rites. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12-2 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home. Carl served in the United States Navy 1955-1959, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked for D.A. Moore for 18 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Enochville. Carl raised cattle, farmed, enjoyed fishing and loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters Sue Baker and Mildred Evans. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jane W. Evans, two daughters, Cindy Bean (Richard), Tina Sechler (Steve), one son Brad Evans (Shelia) all of Enochville, one brother Don Evans (Jewel) of Kannapolis, two sisters, Judy Miller (Buddy) of Kannapolis, Shelia Morton (Tony) of Rockwell, six grandchildren Megan Bean, Leslie Bean, Johnathan Menius, Kelly Fisher (Justin), Garrett Evans (Tessa), Bryan Evans, and one Great-grandchild Carleigh Jane Fisher.
