Obituary: Carl Andrew Holt, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born September 7, 1936 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late James Carl Holt and Helen Cannon Holt. He was a 1954 graduate of Landis High School and graduated from Evans Business College and Biscayne. After high school, Andy worked at the Kerr Bleachery in Concord until it burned. He then transferred to a company Kerr purchased in South Carolina. He last worked at Wade Manufacturing in Wadesboro as Vice-President until he retired after twenty-five years of service. Andy also served in the U.S. Army where he served as a financial clerk. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, NC and was also a member of the American Legion Beaver-Pittman Post 115. He had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves in earlier years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Holt and Mattie Shankle Henry; and one brother, Clark Holt. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Darryl Evans. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Juanita Petrea Holt; three brothers, David (Vicky) Holt and J.C. (Becky) Holt, both of Kannapolis, NC; and Sam Holt of Ruby, SC; and a number of nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
