Carl Edney Tucker

Obituary: Charlotte- Carl Edney Tucker, 63, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospital. Born January 15, 1954 in Cabarrus County, Carl was a son of the late Andy Malachi Sr. and Pearl Loutisha Barringer Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joshua Edney Tucker. Mr. Tucker had retired from Overnight/UPS after more than 30 years of loyal service. A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Carl will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Anyone who knew Carl knew how much his family meant to him, they were his world. He was an avid Tarheel fan and loved his truck. Carl always look forward to visiting Alabama, especially Dauphin Island and Gulf Shores. Loving family members include his daughter, Jennifer Tucker; six grandchildren; six sisters; three brothers; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Carl also leaves behind two lifelong friends, Steve Sinnett and Barry Moody. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 18th from 11:30-1:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate and remember Carl's life will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
