Obituary: Carla Mangum Walker, 49, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at CMC Northeast Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1963 in Durham County to Carl Mangum and Shirley Walker Murray. Carla worked for over 20 years for CPCC as a sign language Interpreter. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, Ira Walker; a son, Casey Walker of the home; father and step-mother, Carl Mangum and his wife, Paula of Creedmoor; her mother and step-father, Shirley Murray and her husband Lloyd of Harrisburg; and a brother, Greg Mangum and his wife, Angie of Creedmoor. A funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
