Obituary: Carlie "Carl" Curtis Jordan, 88, of Concord went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis following a period of declining health. Carl was born May 21, 1929 in Harnett County, NC a son of the late Cornelius and Fannie Dupree Jordan. Also preceded him in death was a son, Steven Curtis Jordan in 2011 and a grandson Justin Curtis Jordan in 1993. Carl was a true American hero having serving in the US Army, 25th Division, 14th Infantry "Tropic Lighting" during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded in combat and was declared a 100% disabled veteran. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He retired with twenty three years of service. Carl was an avid St. Louis Cardinals' fan. He and his son attended many games and spring training. He was an avid gardener. He was a member of West A Church of God. He loved the Lord and was a devoted husband to his wife of 62 years. Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife Marilyn Burke Jordan of the Home, one son, Darrin Dupree Jordan (Dana) of Kannapolis, two grandchildren; Martin Jordan and Anna Dupree Jordan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 4, 2018 at West A Church of God, Kannapolis conducted by Dr. Greg Sloop, Rev. John Taylor and Rev. Bill Coughlin. Entombment will follow in Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines Mausoleum, Salisbury with military graveside rites conducted by the US Army.
