Carol June (Reece) Baker

Carol June Baker, 88, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

June was born on September 22, 1933 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late Charles Reece and Ila Mae Newton Reece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Ray Baker, Sr.

June loved attending church at Landis Baptist. She was a member for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. June was a talented baker and made many desserts. She was well known for her delicious homemade oatmeal cream cookies.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Jimmy Ray Baker, Jr. (Donna) of China Grove and Benny Rae Baker (Cathy) of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Mechele, Matthew and Allen; great-grandchildren, Bella, Allie, and Mady; brother, Bobby Reece; and sisters Betty Cauble and Barbara Burrage (Larry).

The family would like to invite friends to visit Whitley's Funeral Home on Friday, November 19 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM from where Ms. Baker will lie in state. The family will not be present at that time. All services will remain private.
