Carol Ann Correll

Obituary: Landis, NC- Carol Ann Correll, age 56, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC after an illness of three months. She was born May 3, 1959 in Washington, DC, the daughter of Rebecca Alice Owen Edwards of St. Inigoes, MD and the late Alvin Roy Edwards. Carol was raised in Accokeek, MD. She met her husband, Lee, in the Washington, DC area and were married December 1982. Carol and Lee lived in Maryland, moved to Florida for a short while, and eventually moved to Lee's hometown of Landis, NC where they settled and raised their two children. Carol worked at UNCC for seventeen years. She just recently graduated from Bible Missionary Baptist Church College with a bachelor's degree in theology. Carol and was actively involved in her church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Salisbury, NC. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Jan Correll; and a sister, Karon Lee Seaton. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 4, 2015 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2515 E. Innes Street in Salisbury, NC officiated by Rev. Dan Caldwell. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Landis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors in addition to her mother include a daughter, Carey Elizabeth Correll of Concord, NC; a son, Justin Wayne Correll of Landis, NC; a sister, Sharon Scott (Randy) of Charlotte Hall, MD; and a brother, John Edwards of St. Inigoes, MD.
