Carol Wilson Davis

Obituary: Carol Wilson Davis, 74, of Concord died Jan. 22, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born January 8, 1937 in Montgomery County, the daughter of the late Labern and Alice Graham Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Dossie C. Davis in 1993. She had worked as an administrative assistant at RJ Reynolds and then at Standard Trucking where she retired from in 1997. She was very instrumental in promoting young women in business and was a member of the American Womens Business Association. After retirement, she became involved with Meals on Wheels and working at the Cabarrus Senior Center. She was an avid cook and enjoyed gardening . The apple of her eye was her beloved dog, Emmett. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Burial will private at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. She is survived by her son, Bruce Davis (Beverly) of Concord, her brother Lloyd Wilson of Charlotte, 5 nephews: Sherrill Hawks of Fort Mills, SC, Larry Hawks of Albemarle, Max Hawks of Waxhaw, Dale Hawks of Charlotte and Pat Hawks of Monroe, and two nieces Betty Brumley of Shelby and Tonya Smith of Cornelieus.
