Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Carol Joyce Adams Deal, age 60, of 3518 Cliffdale Drive, Concord, NC, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after declining health of six years and seriously ill for two days. She was born August 21, 1948 in Cabarrus County. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Mt. Pleasant, NC. In earlier years she was a unit secretary at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, Concord, NC for 15 years. Later, she was a cashier & waitress at Mr. C's Restaurant, Concord, NC for several years. After that time, she worked in rehabilitation until retirement due to ill health. The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Larry Barden. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Ernie E. Deal; three sons, Matthew Hallman of China Grove, NC, Jeremy Hallman of Morganton, NC, and Jason Hallman of Concord, NC; three step-sons, Doyle Deal of West Jefferson, NC, Wesley Deal of Mooresville, NC, and Randall Deal of Concord, NC; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Diane and one brother, Johnny; her mother-in-law, Alice Deal of Kannapolis, NC; and one aunt, Beulah Eury of Mt. Pleasant, NC.
