Obituary: Charlotte, NCCarol Jo Crepps Edmiston, 74 of Matthews, formerly of Kannapolis, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center - Charlotte.Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 4th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis, with Rev. Dr. Bart Milleson officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, prior to the funeral.Carol was born September 15, 1937 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late William Ledbetter Crepps and Flora Gaddy Crepps. She graduated from A. L. Brown High School in 1955 and married G. Scott Edmiston on February 23, 1957. They were former members of Trinity UMC. Carol worked as an accountant for Midrex Corp - Charlotte for 27 years. She was Past President and Woman of the Year with the American Business Womens Association. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.She is survived by her husband of 54 years, G. Scott Edmiston of the family home and her 2 daughters; Lee Ann Edmiston of Charlotte and Robin E. Farrell and husband, Scott of Indian Trail and granddaughter Chelsea C. Farrell. Survivors also include her sister-in-law, Joanne Crepps and family of Hampton, VA and nieces and nephews; Hamilton Groscup and wife, Pat of Jacksonville FL, Melinda Gaskin and husband, Bill of Matthews, Denise Peak and husband, Richard and Mark Groscup and wife, Dulcy, all of Baltimore, MD and 7 great-nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces.
