Carol Jean Swaringen Holloway

Obituary: Carol Jean Swaringen Holloway, 69 of Supply, NC died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 29 at her daughter's home in Salisbury, after a brief illness. Her funeral will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 3 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hoyt King officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home, at other times they will be at 412 Brook St, Salisbury at the home of Patricia Owens. Carol was born April 20, 1943 in Norwood NC, a daughter of the late Chester and Corrie Tucker Swaringen. She was a long-term area resident and graduate of Aquadale High School. She worked in various sewing mills and later as a weaver for Cone Mill. After she and her husband retired around 1997, they moved to Supply, NC. Carol was a member of Peace Memorial Baptist Church in Shallotte. She loved doing "Crafts" of all kinds. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower garden. Carol also loved being with her family, friends and church family members. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Diggs. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Frank W. Holloway of supply, her daughter, Patricia Owens of Salisbury and 4 step children; Darlene Yates of Salisbury, Juanita Mast of Gold Hill, Kenneth Holloway of Kannapolis and Ricky Holloway of Concord. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and her brother, Randy Swaringen of Norwood.
