Obituary: A dear, precious soul has been called to her eternal home. Carol Ann Taylor, 71, of Kannapolis, moved on to her heavenly home, on Sunday, May 15, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on July 4, 1939, the only child of Annie Heintz Taylor and Adrian Astor Taylor. Carol and her family were formerly members of Memorial Baptist Church and most lately have been active members of Calvary Baptist Church, where Carol has been a faithful member of the adult choir for many years. She graduate from Appalachian State University with a degree in elementary education and spent a short time teaching school in Cabarrus County. Carol was an avid gardener. She had a strong green thumb. Each spring she would bring the pots up from the basement and start all over; and every year she had beautiful flowers. She would take picture and send them to her family to enjoy. Carol is to be admired and credited for taking excellent care of her mother at home for many years. The Lord willing, her mother will celebrate her 100th birthday this fall. Carol leaves behind on the earth to cherish her memory a number of cousins in various parts of the country in both the Taylor and Heintz families and a special Aunt, Alvarati T. Patton, of Black Mountain, NC. A very special thanks from Carol's family goes to her special circle of friends from Calvary Baptist Church. They have faithfully been good friends, helping Carol with chores and transportation for many years. A celebration of Carol's life is planned for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Max Smith. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated, however, we encourage you to make a contribution to the Calvary Baptist Church, 703 Buick Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083 in Carol's memory.
