Carole Joyce Oliver

Obituary: Carole Joyce Coan Oliver, 77 of Kannapolis passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at her residence. Her death follows a period of declining health. Mrs. Oliver was born on January 10, 1936 in Cabarrus County a daughter of the late Thomas Guy and Viola Estaline King Coan. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Mrs. Oliver was a graduate of Winecoff High School where she was on the girls basketball team, and a graduate of Kings Business College. She retired in 1998 after 30 years of service to Rowan County Schools where she was a financial secretary. She and her husband Chuck enjoyed traveling in their RV, blue grass music and she was an avid treasure hunter. Mrs. Oliver will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Oliver will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Brookdale Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at church. Survivors include her husband Chuck of 56 years, a daughter; Tina Oliver-Link and husband Don of Concord, a son; Chip Oliver and wife Karen of Mt. Pleasant, grandchildren; Coan, Logan, Nash, Stokes, and Mary Ellis Link, and Cameron Oliver, a brother; Paul Coan and his wife Pug of China Grove, sisters; Ruth Nash of Concord, Sarah Roberts of Salisbury, and Rachel Holleman and husband Earl of Concord, sister-in-law; Katherine Dailey and husband Pete of Greenville, FL.
