Carolyn Blalock Dale

Obituary: Carolyn Blalock Dale age 66 died Sunday November 6, 2011 at her home after an illness of 3 years. She was born in Halifax County Va. April 2, 1945, the daughter of the late Paul and Virginia Stanley Rowland, and later adopted by the late Jonnie and Pauline Yost Blalock. Carolyn was educated in the Rowan County Schools and worked with Draymore Textiles for many years and also as a waitress at area restaurants until retirement in 2007. She loved to square dance, read and sew. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Memorial service will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be conducted by Rev. Phred Causey. She is survived by one son, David Compton and wife, Cindy, of Salisbury; two sisters, Betty Hill-McCullen of Salisbury, and Debra Johnson of Winston-Salem; one brother, John Rowland of Salisbury and one step-brother, Johnnie Wagoner of China Grove. One grandchild, Josh Taylor of Lenior, and two great-grandchildren, Blake and Macie Taylor.Memorials may be made to The Blake and Macie Taylor Fund at any branch of Wells Fargo Bank.
