Carolyn Moon Edmondson

Obituary: Carolyn Moon Edmondson, 86, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Carolinas Healthcare System-Northeast. Born October 20, 1928 in Madison County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late O.C. and Gussie Smith Moon. Carolyn had been a 39 year loyal employee of Cannon Mills Plant #1 and a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1990 by her husband, Marion Oliver Edmondson, a sister Glennette Beaver and brothers A.M. and Verlyn Moon. Family members left with cherished memories include her son Kirby Edmondson and wife, Cindy; her granddaughter Mara Leigh Edmondson, all of Waxhaw; sister Marion Anderson of Kannapolis; her brothers Ronnie Moon of Chicago, Jimmy Moon of Kannapolis, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:30 pm Sunday in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Shawn Beaver, of Boulevard Chapel, Kannapolis. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
