Carolyn Horne

Obituary: Mrs. Carolyn Myers Horne, 75, of Kannapolis, passed away, Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born September 12, 1941 in Rowan County to the late Roy G. Myers and Elsie Mowery Myers. Carolyn graduated from Rowan Co. Schools and worked for Cone Mills in Salisbury for 26 years in the spinning room, and she was also a greeter at Wal-Mart. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and taking trips with family. She was preceded in death by a daughter June Ballew Isaman, a granddaughter Amanda Leigh Johnson, and a brother Richard Myers. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Erie Wilson Horne, four children Susan Thomason-Laraway of Mocksville, Vernal Ballew Jr. of Southmont, NC, Curtis Ballew of Lexington, NC, De Anna Brandon of Salisbury, nine grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren, and two brothers Roy Myers Jr. and Barry Myers both of Salisbury. Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 15 at Providence Baptist Church in Salisbury with the Rev. Sy Ponds officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
