Carolyn Turner Louey

Obituary: Carolyn Louise Turner Louey, 67, of Kannapolis, formerly of Homer, NY, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2019 following a short period of declining health. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born September 14, 1951 in Malone, NY, a daughter of the late Dale and Elaine Turner. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Donna Turner Zadow of Wading River, NY. Family members left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years; Reg Louey, one son, Jonathan Louey and wife Caroline of Dryden, NY, a daughter, JoEllen Habel and husband Michael of Charlotte, three grandchildren; Alexander, Joseph, and Benjamin. She is also survived by one sister, Linda Turner DeBeer of North Bangor, NY, one brother, Douglas Turner of Brushton, NY and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A Catholic Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2019 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, conducted by Father Paul McNulty. Cemetery services will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery, Concord. A Memorial Service celebrating Carolyn's life will be celebrated in Cortland, NY later this spring. Carolyn enjoyed gardening and watching the birds in her yard. She was a most beautiful and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
