Obituary: Carolyn Bost McLaughlin, 80, of Mooresville passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House after a period of declining health. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, May 31st at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Ken Reed and Rev. Dr. Larry Bost officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church's Family Life Center. At other times the family will be at her residence. Her burial will be private. Carolyn was born April 16, 1936 in Rowan Co., a daughter of the late Holland and Grace Freeze Bost. Carolyn was a life-long area resident and graduate of Landis High School and North State Business College. She worked for Fieldcrest Cannon as Assistant Manager in Accounts Payable, retiring after 36 years of service. Carolyn was a member Concordia Lutheran Church where she served as Vice-President of Church Council and as a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. She was also a youth leader and Evangelism Education committee chairperson. Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by her family and all her friends in the Atwell Community. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Sloop McLaughlin as well as two brothers, Junious Bost and Carl Bost, and two sisters, Dorothy B. Karriker and Mary Benfield Snowberger. She is survived by her two daughters; Bobbie M. Dellinger (Jim) of Concord and Angela M. Harriott of Winston Salem, her grandchildren; Garrett Dellinger (Kristal), Jason Dellinger and Rebecca Dellinger, all of Concord, Courtney H. Rose (Russ) of Durham, Bryan Harriott and Kevin Harriott, both of Winston Salem and her great-grandchildren, Gavin and Corah Dellinger. She is also survived by eight brothers and sisters; Jerry Bost (Sylvia) of Mebane, Rev. Gene Bost (Myra) and Rev. Floyd Bost (Bonnie), both of Salisbury, Hazel B. Freeze (Jim), Alta B. Christy , Tom Bost (Donna), Helen B. Craig, all of Mooresville, Frances B. Hill (Don) of Kannapolis, and many loving nieces and nephews.
