Carolyn Lugene (Barnhardt) Wike

Carolyn Lugene Barnhardt Wike, born January 8, 1943, met her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Kenneth Barnhardt, Sr. and Rena Jane Wentz Barnhardt; brothers, James Kenneth Barnhardt, Jr., Gerald Guy Barnhardt; husband, Robert Forrest Wike and two sons, Robert, “Robbie” Forrest Wike, Jr. and David Jonathan Wike.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin R. Wike and James F. Wike; two grandchildren, Shelly and Harrison and one great granddaughter, Riley; and one sister, Helen Barnhardt Boan (Melvin) and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn grew up in the Church of God of Prophecy, and was a member of God’s Church of Faith in Kannapolis. Carolyn attended A.L. Brown High School. After high School, Carolyn was a housewife as well as an inspector at Cannon Mills for 29 years until it closed.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jeff Upright. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, the hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
