Carson Lucas Gibson

Obituary: Carson Lucas Gibson, 85, of Kannapolis died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 while at Genesis Healthcare in Salisbury. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 20 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral. Carson was born April 26, 1932 in Chesterfield Co. SC, a son of the late Dave Curtis Gibson and Lucy A. Gibson. In addition to his parents, Carson was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Gentle, his brother, Floyd Gibson and his sister, Bobbie Ketner. He worked for over 40 years at Pethel's Used Cars as a mechanic and in earlier years for Cannon Mills Co. Carson was huge fan of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Jr. He will be dearly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Patricia Lewis Gibson, his daughter, Anita Gentle (Scott) of Landis and his son, Craig Gibson (Brooklyn) of Concord; his grandchildren, David Gentle (Stephanie) of Salisbury, Zachary Carter, Alexis Carter, Gauge Gibson and Molly Gibson and 3 great-grandchildren ,Austin, Sadie and Ethan.
