Cathy Jo Carringer

Obituary: Cathy Jo Stricklin Carringer, 65, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on August 15, 2018 at Atrium Health-Stanly. Cathy was born April 20, 1953 in Kentucky, a daughter of the late Solomon and Patricia Ann Stittsworth Stricklin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Stricklin and a sister, Barbara Stricklin. Cathy was a registered nurse all of her life working at CMC-NorthEast, Stanly County and Piedmont (Rock Hill, SC) hospitals. She won the 2013 Palmetto Award, given for outstanding nurse in South Carolina. She had a passion for deep sea fishing and the Carolina Panthers. She loved spending time with her husband and family. She loved her precious dogs, Izzy, Brother, Niner, Layla and Ivory. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM prior at Whitley's. Cathy is survived by the love of her life for 41 years, Harold Carringer, two step-daughters, Michelle Carringer Sides of Kannapolis, Angela Carringer of Denver, grandchildren, Tyler Sides, Mason Roland, sister, Sally Wade of Rock Hill, SC, nephew, Kevin Wade (Julie) and children Michael, Emmett, Lucas, niece, Robin Colby (Matt) and children, Kaiden and Jace, and great nephew, Ryker.
