Obituary: Cathy Bryant Crowley, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at CMC-Main, Charlotte, NC. She was born January 6, 1951 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Richard T. Bryant and Mary Frances Cameron Bryant. Cathy was a 1969 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a graduate of the former Rowan Technical Institute. Cathy was a registered nurse for thirty-seven years having worked at the former Cabarrus Mem. Hospital, later at H & M Medical Clinic, CMC-NorthEast, and also with the Duke Affiliation Office. She finished her nursing years with the "Ask First" program at NorthEast Medical Center. Over the years she had been affiliated with Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC and presently Harrisburg United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, NC. Cathy was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Retired Nurses Association. Her family fondly remembers her love of bird watching and painting bird houses. She also enjoyed reading and spending quality time with her grandson, Jonathan. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Memorial United Methodist C hurch, Kannapolis, NC followed by a memorial service to celebrate her life at 3:30 PM in the sanctuary. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Davis. Burial will be at a later date. Survivors include her husband of thirty-nine years, Steve Crowley; one son, Kevin Crowley of Kannapolis, NC; a daughter, Kim Crowley Rogers of Concord, NC; one grandchild, Jonathan David Rogers; one sister, Beth B. Gribble & husband, Joe of Kannapolis, NC; and one brother, Richard (Dick) Bryant of Chester, VA and fiancee, Susan Swan; nieces and nephews, Anna and Jane Gribble, Cameron Bryant and Leslie Bryant, Stacy Starnes, Brandon Sides, Luke Crowley, and Beth Miller.
