Cathy Dalton (Vanpelt) Moore

Cathy Vanpelt Moore, 73 of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Cathy was born on November 6, 1950 in Cabarrus County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Clarence Reid Vanpelt Sr. and Fannie Lee Critz Vanpelt.

Cathy’s heart was drawn to the mountains, where she and her husband, Jack, enjoyed deer watching, especially at Morrow Mountain. She also cherished her time at the beach, but it was the mountains that truly captured her spirit. Together with Jack, she traveled to gospel concerts, sharing in their love for music and their faith.

A lifelong reader and dedicated member of Friendship Freewill Baptist Church, Cathy was known for her kindness and her commitment to sharing the Lord’s message with everyone she met. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Jack Moore Jr.; step- children, Becky Smith (Anthony), and Matthew Moore; granddaughters, Chloe Newman and Josie Smith; great-grandson, Ozzy Newman; brother Clearence “Reid” Vanpelt Jr. (Linda); nephew, Chip Vanpelt (Julie); niece, Carrie Paxton (Marty); and 5 great- nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm with Rev. George Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kannapolis.
