C. Delmar Wayne, Jr.

Claude Delmar Wayne Jr., 71, of Mooresville passed away January 3, 2024. He was born July 28, 1952 in Watauga County, a son of Claude Delmar Wayne, Sr. of Davidson and the late Juanita Stone Wayne. He was preceded by two infant sons, Derrick and Nicholas.

Delmar was in the logging and timber business all his life. He loved duck hunting and fishing. He was a member of Lake Norman Baptist Church.

A funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM Friday at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Tom Wassell. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at the Sheets Family cemetery, 4677 Blue Ridge Parkway, Laurel Springs, NC 28644. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at Whitley’s.

In addition to his father, Delmar is survived by his wife whom he married August 18, 1972, Nina Phillips Wayne, son, Edward Jesse Wayne, adopted daughter, Chanda Lowder Simmons, grandchildren, Adam, Jesse, Taylor, Tori, great-grandchildren, Myla and Rowan, sister, Sylvia Kincaid, brothers, Eric Wayne and Keith Wayne.
