Cecil Vernon Coxey

Obituary: Kannapolis - Cecil Vernon Coxey, 74, of Five Oaks Nursing Center, died Sunday March 22, 2009 at CMC NorthEast. He was born June 3, 1934 in Gaston County, the son of the late John Alvin Coxey and the late Docia Cross Coxey. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Uretha Coxey, Trudy Coxey, and Annie Coxey. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Timmy and Jerry Coxey as well as a two brothers Donald and Terry Coxey and a sister Rebecca Benfield. He is survived by his wife Sarah Ann Holt Coxey, a sister Marcella "Sis" Walters, a brother Robert "Buddy" Coxey, 10 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, two step daughters Linda Sue Jenkins and Barbara Ledford and a step son Charles "Buddy" Cook Jr. A memorial service will be held at Sloan Lake Community Church, China Grove on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at 11:00 am officiated by Dr. Zachary Sizemore. Memorials may be made to Sloan Lake Community Church Building Fund, 150 Glory Rd. China Grove, NC 28023.
