Cecil White

Obituary: Cecil T. White, age 99, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the W. G. Hefner V.A. Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. He was born December 27, 1915 in Madison County, GA, the son of the late Comas White and Mary Ada Brooks White. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Azlee Hooper White, a daughter, Mary A. Deal, 8 brothers and 1 sister. Cecil was employed as a carpenter working with the late Bim Hilton Construction Company in Kannapolis and the former Cannon Mills Company. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of West Point Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. He also served his country in WW-II with the U.S. Army in the Pacific War Theater. Cecil was a member of the D.A.V. chapter #54 and a member of the V.F.W. #8989. He is survived by his son, Michael Lee White (Jan) of Kannapolis; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The service for Mr. White will take place at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Shelton. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors being conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 before the service at Whitley's.
