Chad Mullis

Obituary: Chad Lynn Mullis, 52, of Mexico Beach, Florida, formerly of Kannapolis passed away July 24, 2018 at his home. Chad was born April 22, 1966 in Iredell County, a son of Sidney and Joyce Upright Bowden. He was preceded in death by a brother, Quent Mullis. A funeral service will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 PM Sunday, July 29, 2018 officiated by Revs. Trey Palmer, Jeff Upright and Robby Entrekin. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 prior at Whitley's. In addition to his parents, Chad is survived by his wife, Lisa Gathings Mullis, daughter, Hannah Ivey (Justin), son, Daniel Mullis (Gabrielle), grandchildren, Brailyn, Isaiah and Uriah Ivey and Chandler Mullis, two brothers, Alan Lambert and Frankie Lambert. Chad had many interests and hobbies. He loved to fish, play cornhole, and enjoyed woodwork. His love for his friends and family was a primary thing he will be remembered for. His faith was the most essential part of his life as he dedicated many hours teaching at youth camp, singing at church, being involved in Bible Studies, and leading services at church. He always enjoyed being around people and seemed to make every room better just by being in it. Chad truly lived out his life motto that he said so many times, "God, Family, Fellowship."
