Charles Edward Britt

Obituary: Charles Edward Britt, 77, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Britt was born in Cumberland County March 8, 1936 to the late Duvel and Nellie Buchanan Britt. Mr. Britt was a member of Crown Pointe Baptist Church and he was the owner of Freeze Insurance Agency in China Grove for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 57 years Barbara Britt of the home; three children, Cheryl Grissom (Steve) of Wake Forrest, NC, Lynn Britt Payne of Kannapolis, and Jimmy Britt of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Sylva Coward, Darlene Humphries, April Suggs, and Robin Banks; and a brother, Brad Britt. Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Britt. A funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Crown Pointe Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mars Hill, NC at 3:00 P.M. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
