Obituary: Charles Hubert Cook, 71, of Landis passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 at his home. He was born January 31, 1944 in Roseboro, NC, the son of the late John David Cook and Doris Lewis Cook. He was preceded in death by a brother, John David Cook, Jr. Charles retired from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol where he served duty stations in Stanly and Gaston counties. He was a graduate of High Point High School in 1962. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, China Grove. He was a member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge in China Grove. He was an avid golfer, race fan and loved watching Westerns. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor John C. Elledge, Liberty Grove Baptist Church, Fleetwood, NC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with masonic graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday prior at Whitley's. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty K. Cook whom he married November 24, 1985, son, Charles Hubert "Chuck" Cook, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fl., son, Jeffrey Lewis Cook and wife, Karen of St. Augustine, Fl.,grandchildren, Sean Wyatt Cook, Peyton Elizabeth Cook, Jeffrey Lewis Cook, Jr. all of St. Augustine, Fl. and Caroline Melinda Cook of Wake Forest, NC. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Robert Roycroft and Amy Gibson for their excellent and compassionate care. Memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565 and/or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or a charity of one's choice.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00PM, Monday November 16, 2015 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00PM, Monday November 16, 2015 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
