Charles Gray Corl

Obituary: Charles Gray Corl, 83, of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, June 4, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born April 6, 1929 in Rowan County, the son of the late John Luther Corl and Shirley Safrit Corl. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Hyde Corl in 1990. Charles retired from Cannon Mills where he was supervisor of the Pipe Shop having worked there for almost 50 years. He was a 1947 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School where he played football. He was a past owner of the former Plaza Used Cars in Kannapolis. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church. He was very dedicated to his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Kim Trabold. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday prior to the service. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Seaford (Raymond), two sons Dennis Corl and Mark Corl all of Kannapolis, his "adopted son" Wayne Lisk (Lucy), two brother-in-laws, Joe Hyde and Harold Hyde (Billie) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
