Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Charles Monroe Dixon, 67, of Kannapolis died at his home on Sunday, May 8, 2016 after a period of declining health. His funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, at Second Baptist Church at 807 Sweet Gum Street in Kannapolis with Rev. Gary Scoggins and Rev. Chuck Overcash officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, prior to the funeral. Charles was born August 27, 1948 in Darlington Co. SC, a son of the late Daniel Lee Dixon, Jr. and Anna Wilson Dixon. He was a long-time area resident and was of the Baptist faith. Charles was employed by Cannon Mills in Plant #4 weave room and later at the China Grove Cotton Mill. He retired in 2000 due to disability. Charles enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed. Charles is survived by 2 daughters; Lisa Pope (Johnny) and Tricia Dixon, both of Kannapolis; 4 brothers, James Dixon (Frances) of Kannapolis, Don Dixon of Lenoir, Johnny Dixon of Mt. Pleasant and Terry Dixon of Kannapolis; 2 sisters, Joyce Lambert (Greg) of Concord and Diana Dixon of Kannapolis.
