Charles Lee Fink

Obituary: Concord - Charles Lee Fink, age 80, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his home. He was born June 8, 1928 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late William Harry Fink and Mary Elizabeth Trexler Fink. He was a lifetime resident of the area. He was employed with the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt.#6 Carpentry Shop for 36 years until his retirement. He was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, NC where he had served as an elder, deacon, choir member, maintenance, and other phases of church activities. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict in the communications division. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, George Fink. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at Second Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Lou Pfeiffer. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include his wife Peggy Joyce Roberts Fink whom he married June 1, 1958; five children, Randy Fink, Rhonda Fink Cline & husband, Mike, Robin Fink, Roger Dale Fink, and Reba Fink Giddings & husband, Larry Six grandchildren, Jeffrey Fink, Brandy Kabusk, Paul Kabusk, Michael Cline, Travis Giddings, and Taylor Giddings Five brothers & sisters, Wade Fink & wife, Gladys of Longview, WA, Betty Jean Fink Eury of Winston-Salem, NC, Jane Ruth Fink Troutman of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Sarah Mae Fink Tysinger of Kannapolis, NC and a special brother-in-law, Troy Tysinger of Kannapolis, NC, and William Harry Fink, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, NC The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Benjamin Kunesh, Dr. Garry Swartz, and Dr. John Finnie for their love & care given to Charles during this difficult time in our lives.
